If your ambient recordings arrive empty, silent, or missing entirely, it’s usually because SPYERA couldn’t access the target device’s microphone for the full duration of the recording. This is expected behaviour designed to keep monitoring discreet — here’s why it happens and how to reduce it.
Why ambient recordings are empty or missing
- The device was in use when recording started. When you start a remote recording, the target device should be idle. If the user is playing a game, chatting, or otherwise using the phone, the recording won’t start — this causes a missing ambient record.
- The user picked up the phone mid-recording. If the device is used during a recording, SPYERA stops it to protect you from discovery. You may see a file in your web account, but it will have no sound — this causes an empty recording file.
- A digital assistant blocked the microphone. Apps such as Google Assistant, Finder, an internet browser, or Bixby Voice can interrupt the process and cause it to fail.
This is not a fault to be fixed — SPYERA works this way by design. Forcing the device while too many processes run at once could crash it or make the user suspicious. Losing the occasional file is far better than losing access altogether.
Fix Bixby errors on Samsung devices
If your target device is a Samsung running Android 10 or above, Bixby is often the main cause of failed ambient recording. Here’s how to disable it.
Find the Bixby Voice app
- Open Settings.
- Go to Apps (Installed Applications).
- Find and tap Bixby Voice — not Bixby Routines, Bixby Dictation, or any add-on pack, only the main app.
If you can’t find it manually, use the search box in Settings and type bixby.
Hide Bixby to avoid detection
- Disable all of the app’s notifications.
- Scroll down, find the Appear on Top option, and disable it too.
Disable Bixby completely
- Return to the main Settings menu.
- Go to Apps (Installed Applications).
- Tap Choose default apps at the top of the menu.
- Tap Device assistance app.
- Tap Digital assistant app.
- Choose Google Assistant or None.
