SPYERA uses very little battery on its own — it runs quietly in the background and only wakes up to capture the activity you’re monitoring. How much battery it uses in practice depends entirely on which features you enable and how often you report data, all of which you control from your web account.
How much battery does SPYERA use?
By default, SPYERA has a small footprint because it stays idle until there’s activity to record. The more you ask it to do — monitoring every activity and reporting in real time — the more battery and data it will use. Because every feature is configurable, you decide the balance between coverage and battery life.
What features can drain the battery?
Battery impact depends on what you monitor, how active the target user is, how often you check GPS location or use SpyCall (ambient listening), and how frequently data is reported.
SpyCall (ambient listening)
SpyCall doesn’t use any internet data, but it uses the same battery as a normal phone call. If you listen to the phone’s surroundings for a total of three hours in a day, that reduces the battery by roughly three hours of talk time — exactly like any other call. SpyCall is an ordinary call for the target phone; it simply answers silently, without ringing or showing any sign that the call connected.
Location tracking
Checking GPS location frequently and reporting it in real time has the biggest impact, because GPS needs extra power to switch on. We recommend checking the location in real time only when you need it. Checking every 30 or 60 minutes uses far less battery, and you can change these settings from your dashboard at any time. The report timer
The Report Timer controls how often SPYERA opens an internet connection to upload your data. Small items like texts and call logs upload quickly. But reporting in real time — immediately after each event — can keep a connection open almost continuously for an active user, and capturing lots of photos, video, or audio adds more data and more power to upload. By default, SPYERA uploads once per hour or after 500 items have been captured, which balances convenience with battery and data savings. You can adjust this in your dashboard at any time.
Choose the right delivery method to save battery
Two simple settings make the biggest difference to battery life:
- Capture only what you need. Turn off logging for activities you’re not interested in — the fewer activities SPYERA captures, the smaller its footprint.
- Upload over Wi-Fi. You can set the report timer to use Wi-Fi only. If the phone connects to Wi-Fi at home, work, or school regularly, this avoids using the mobile data plan. Wi-Fi uses less battery than mobile data, and devices are often charging while on Wi-Fi anyway.
If you turn off all logging and use SPYERA only for live listening via SpyCall, it uses no internet data at all — just normal call battery.
