With an active SPYERA subscription you can move the software from one device to another as many times as you like. Moving SPYERA to another phone always involves two steps, in this order: deactivation first, then uninstallation.
Why order matters: Deactivation stops your license key from being used by the software on the current device to communicate with the server. If you uninstall without deactivating first, the license key stays tied to the old device — and when you try to activate it on the new phone, you will be told the key is already in use. You would then have to deactivate before you could continue.
Step 1: Deactivate the license key
You can deactivate in any of the following ways.
Deactivate and uninstall physically on the target device
Choose this if you want to deactivate the key and remove the software so you can physically install it on a new target device with the same license key. In your web account, go to Help > Reference Manuals > Deactivation and Uninstallation and follow the steps.
Deactivate from your online portal without uninstalling
Choose this if you want the software to stop working on the current device but plan to activate it again later. In your web account, go to Help > Device Settings > Device Controls > Deactivate.
Deactivate by remote SMS command
A remote SMS command is a special text message you send from your own phone to the target device to perform an action without needing the device in hand. The deactivation command is:
- <*#14142><License key><D>
Replace License key with your own software license key, and include the < and > symbols exactly as shown.
Step 2: Uninstall the software
Once the license key is deactivated and no longer communicating with the server, uninstall the software. As with deactivation, there are several ways to do this.
Deactivate and uninstall physically on the target device
Choose this to deactivate and remove the software so you can physically install it on a new target device with the same license key. In your web account, go to Help > Reference Manuals > Deactivation and Uninstallation and follow the steps.
Uninstall from your web account
You can uninstall without having the target device in hand. In your web account, go to Help > Device Settings > Device Controls > Uninstall.
Uninstall by remote SMS command
As with deactivation, you can uninstall by sending a remote SMS command to the target device. The uninstall command is:
- <*200><D>
Include the < and > symbols exactly as shown.
After the software is deactivated and uninstalled, you are ready to install SPYERA on the new phone with the same license key. If you are unsure the new device is supported, check the compatibility page first.
