It depends on how you paid. This is worth checking, because assuming the wrong one is the most common reason a SPYERA account lapses unexpectedly.
If you want to stop automatic renewal, you can do it yourself in about a minute: sign in to your billing account, open Activation Codes, click the subscription and press Cancel. You keep the time you have already paid for, and there is no fee.
Paid by card
Yes, it renews automatically. We charge the card you used on the renewal date and your licence is extended without you doing anything. You will receive a receipt by email.
If the card is declined, expired or short of funds, the payment fails and we retry it over the following days. We email you when this happens, so if you receive a payment-retry email it is worth acting on quickly.
Paid by Bitcoin
No. Bitcoin subscriptions must be renewed by hand, every time. The Bitcoin network has no way for a merchant to charge you again, so nothing will happen automatically on your renewal date.
If you paid in Bitcoin, put your renewal date in your calendar. When it is due, settle the renewal in your billing account or ask us for a direct payment link. See How to Pay With Bitcoin.
How to check which one you are on
- Log in to the billing system.
- Open your subscription and look at the payment method shown against it.
- If it names a card, renewal is automatic. If it says Bitcoin, renewal is manual.
If you are not sure, ask us with your order number or activation code and we will tell you your exact renewal date and whether it is automatic.
Changing how you pay
You can move from Bitcoin to a card, or update the card on file, from your billing account. Switching to a card is the simplest way to stop worrying about missed renewals — and it also means any future refund can be processed normally.
Stopping renewals yourself
You can turn off automatic renewal on your own, without contacting us. Sign in to your billing account, open Activation Codes, click the subscription and press Cancel. Future payments stop immediately, and you keep the time you have already paid for until it runs out.
